Welcome to the Andy Smith Oregon Chapter #31 of the Qwest Pioneers

We represent the Telecom Pioneers of Oregon.  In our name we memorialized a great leader and Pioneer, Andy Smith.
Andy was the chief executive of a small telephone company, Pacific Northwest Bell.  He believed in giving back to the
communities where his company did business.  He believed that it was good business and supported the Pioneers
in both time, money and opportunity.  He believed that people working together for a common cause could achieve
anything.  He also believed that this work should be fun.

We believe that Andy was correct.  As Pioneers we volunteer our time and energy through out the State of Oregon.
We have chapters From Pendleton to Medford, Portland to Eugene, Salem to Roseburg and Bend.  Every year we
participate in numerous events and provide our services to a variety of organizations.
Check out our projects by clicking here.

We will have some great volunteer opportunities this year so we hope that you will join us in some of these activities.
A few examples of our projects are: “A Night at the Oregon FoodBank” a quartely event  in Portland that helps the hungry.

We are always looking for volunteers.  If you would like to have some fun and make a difference in your community then

A Pioneer Poem

Are you an active member, the kind that would be missed,

or are you just contented that your name is on the list?

Do you attend the functions and mingle with the flock,

or do you stay at home and criticize and knock?

Do you ever work on committees, to see there is no trick?

or leave the work to just a few and talk about the clique?

So come to functions often, and help with hand and heart;

Don't be just a member but take an active part.
